…what is possible.”

/WHAT IS “IDEOS”/
The word ideos is the direct translation for the word “ideas” in Esperanto, a language that finds its origins in historical past and an underlying mission not unlike our own.
Translated “one who hopes”, Esperanto was created in 1887 in response to the wave of antisemitism building across Europe by Polish doctor by L.L. Zamenhof. Zamenhof’s thinking was that the world would require a single language to make it possible for people to bridge gaps of religion or ethnicity. Meanwhile, technological developments like the telegraph meant that people from vastly different backgrounds were suddenly in closer contact than ever. Esperanto was reconciliation in action.
The IDEOS Institute is founded on these exact sentiments. Like Esperanto, the Christian call to reconciliation is founded upon Christ’s gift known to many as the Golden Rule: to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself (Luke 10:27).” And in an age where connection and reconciliation are required for the advancement of human flourishing and mutual understanding, IDEOS stands on this incredible calling.
